| The creating process that unfolds itself when I start a painting is as exhilarating as it is demanding. From an idea to the finished tableau, something changes in me each time I paint. I see an image in my mind, from my own world as it were. When the image starts to take shape, I feel the need to bring out, to actualise it. Motivated by a strong desire to see how far I can go, each time I paint I stretch my knowledge of the medium and my abilities. I feel both a struggle and contentment inside. I struggle with my own impatience and frustration, yet I also feel a great sense of satisfaction of doing what I love to do. When I paint I’m the same and yet different, I am seriously focused; yet there is joy permeating throughout. Hello everyone, I’m C.J. Conrad; I welcome you to my world. |
